You're not imagining it. Everything has changed.

And you have a new mission now.

The Great Reset is just beginning to show its effects.

Yes, I’m referring to that Great Reset — but not the myriad conspiracy theories that have hijacked the conversation…nor the very real and disturbing global policies that emerged in the aftermath of the pandemic.

The effects of the reset that I’m seeing now are both more subtle and potentially more impactful than the global fallout more commonly discussed. And they are much more personal.

You have a new mission now.

You’re not imagining it. The pandemic really was a turning point in our collective evolution, karma, and destiny.

Destiny, purpose, mission — these are big words, and everyone means something just a little bit different when they use them. For me, understanding these words is a living question, a practice more than an answer. 

Yet it’s also helpful to have some sort of framework so we can understand each other. When I say mission in this context, I’m referring to your soul’s intentions for what it wishes to experience in this lifetime — a divine blueprint for the challenges, the learning, the joys, the love, and especially the gifts you’re here to embody and share with the world.

When most of us were born, we didn’t know that we were signing up for this massive culture-shifting pandemic. 

It was always a potentiality but was never inevitable. There was a good chance that humanity would make choices that averted so many of the crises we’re facing today. With alternate paths seeming more likely for humanity than the one we’ve found ourselves in, our souls embarked on the great adventure of incarnation.

In our preparations, we designed a lovely blueprint for our soul experience here on Earth. Pain, love, grief, and joy were all woven into the fabric of who we could become. Seeds of the sparkly magic that is born from aligning our spiritual mission with our physical reality took root.

And then, everything changed. 

I want to be clear that the pandemic is not the cause of the reset we’re experiencing on a soul level. Astrologically, this time period was always going to bring us major shifts in culture and consciousness. 

Rather, the pandemic is more the effect of countless choice points along the way. With its arrival, the final threads to alternate futures were severed completely

This isn’t the first time such a shift has occurred. 

My mother, who has amazing intuitive sight and is somehow really good at being hypnotized, had the most fascinating past life hypnosis recently — one that I feel came through as guidance for what we’re facing now. 

During her session, she saw a lifetime in Amsterdam (we’re a lot Dutch, so likely the lifetime of an ancestor and an incarnation). The life was light — she spent her time going on picnics with a large group of happy friends, male and female, and felt the potential of a whole magical life ahead of her.

Then a darkness descended upon the land. 

Real darkness. From her soul’s perspective during the hypnosis, my mother could see this darkness arrive like a massive psychic attack. It was a foreign energy, filled with hate and pain and killing and trauma. 

World War I. 

The lights within her male friends, their inner beauty, was extinguished en masse in the battle fields. The women left behind were filled with heartbreak, many never recovering. 

Looking back at this lifetime, again from her soul’s perspective, my mother saw that this was most definitely not what they had signed up for. It was not part of their soul plans for learning, growth, and evolution. It wasn’t needed. But it did happen. 

This sounds awful, dark, and nothing like a story that would bring us healing or encouragement, right? 

But I do think my mother channeled this story for some very important reasons: 

One, this story lets us know that sometimes shit happens — and it’s not our fault. 

In a way, it’s a nice antidote to the idea that our own subconscious is responsible for creating every experience we have in life. Sure, there’s some truth here, but in this reality we are also co-creating with every other human on the planet (and the trees, bears, stones, and more!) — plus a whole bunch of beings not even in the physical dimension.

Two, shit happens (again) — but we can choose how to respond. 

I’ve heard a lot of theories on the pandemic, including the idea that it’s happening for our evolution. Personally, I don’t think we needed to experience this. And I do think there are some darker energies at play in all this. 

Yet, even though we didn’t need the trauma of the pandemic for some predestined soul calling, we can leverage it to accelerate our spiritual evolution. We can take this as an invitation to step more into our power to co-create a more loving and joyful future.

We can choose to make it something that happened for us rather than to us.

What happens now?

If you’ve been looping in indecision, if the Tower card has appeared in your spreads, if what you used to love no longer fills your cup, if you feel as if you’ve found yourself in the void of unknowing, if you have been flattened by unexpected trauma…

Well, you’re right on track. And it’s okay if you don’t know where to go from here just yet.

The world has changed so significantly and unexpectedly that of course your mission has changed. Different experiences — beautiful ones! — await you. And the world needs you to express your gifts and medicine in new and perhaps surprising ways. 

The good news is that you don’t need to know exactly what this is going to look like. You don’t need to have everything figured out. The universe is conspiring to awaken within you awareness of your new calling. 

The bad news is that this might feel a bit like being hit by a truck. It might feel like things have spiraled out of control. Because again, you actually can’t avoid this reset. And honestly, you probably don’t have a lot of say in whether you enter the unknown gently or by force. 

If our world feels especially chaotic at the moment, it might be helpful to remember how many people are experiencing these resets at once. Some are very much resisting them, which only breeds more pain. Some are a bit like anarchists in the apocalypse, pouring fuel on the flames. 

It’s okay. Remember: There are openings in the chaos. ;) 

So what can you do? How can you ride these waves with grace? 

First, release judgment around the forces that are asking you to change course. 

Some people will experience really major changes, and others will have only the subtlest of adjustments. 

Some people will be catapulted into change by super painful and awful traumas, and others will simply feel an inner knowing to take action.

You didn’t do anything wrong if your reset is a painful one. You aren’t less spiritual because your reset is subtle. There is no judgment from Spirit around your worthiness and ability to navigate these changes, so can you release judgment towards yourself? 

Second, remember: Resistance is futile. Hehe. 

Pretending that things aren’t changing doesn’t make it so. The unknown is scary. Letting go of old dreams hurts. But the energy it takes to keep fighting against reality is way too exhausting. Embrace the truth of your evolution and try to relax into the flow with consciousness and awareness.

Third, everything you’ve been through still matters.

Every life experience — your education, career, travels, investments, relationships, spiritual practices, healing journey, creative projects — still matters. This is your foundation, and it’s perfect.

Just because the places you put your energy are changing, doesn’t mean that your past efforts won’t still impact your life and mission moving forward. 

What threads remain intact? What gifts are fully cultivated just need new avenues to be expressed through? How does the person you’ve already become enable you to meet this reset with power and grace?

Fourth, if you need a rest, then rest.

It’s okay not to know where you’re going, or what your new mission looks like. Contrary to what our thinking minds would prefer, we don’t usually go from one clear mission to another. We have to allow a pause for breakdown and dismembering.

Like the caterpillar that turns to goo before reforming as a butterfly, let yourself enter the alchemical cocoon of transformation for as long as needed.

Fifth, this is a long process, and we’re all at different stages. 

This kind of goes back to the whole no judgment thing. We’ve all heard stories about people who quit their jobs and started wildly successful businesses during the pandemic. We’ve also heard plenty of stories where the past five years feel like one long freeze state. 

It’s all unfolding. These changes are meant to come in waves. You are where you need to be. Just keep moving. 

Sixth, what is meant for you will weather this storm.

As a friend reminded me recently: When winds tear through, wiping out almost everything in their path, what is strong enough to keep hold of the trees remains. What loves you enough to stay in your life can never be lost.

Finally, let your love of potentiality lead over the fear of uncertainty.

Easier said than done, I know, but a worthy goal all the same. 

Can you love this Earth enough to keep caring?
Can you have enough faith in humanity to keep hope alive? 
Can you believe in your own gifts enough to share them, fully and freely?

There is no manual for the times we’re in, but we’re not without support.
