Adding to this; the same teacher (when I was guided to gently separate from her and pursue other work) screamed - loudly and for an hour - that it was a possession making my decision. She weaponized possession in a last ditch effort to maintain control (an illusion she had created for herself), rather than embrace change and nurture potentiality.

Ahhh thank you so much for your share here. It's another perfect example of how not just "possession", but any spiritual teachings really, can be weaponized, as you say. Still...there's something about the deep toxicity of using possession for control that seems especially offensive. What an incredibly sneaky way to make people dismiss their true guidance and replace it with whatever the person in question wants them to believe. True cult-level tactics.
