Also when I read a piece I intuitively scan it - is there soul here? Is the author's signature there? If it's AI, usually not. I have used it as an editor at times, and even then I have seen my own voice be eroded. Like a slippery fish I couldn't catch, it started with changing some grammar then an hour later I couldn't find myself!
Thanks for sharing. I received a message that if AI erodes our ability to speak from the heart, we will be in real trouble. I have no doubt that this will happen for many many people. Voice is sacred and complex and I feel we need to create more containers where people can use their true skills tech free. I just got back from a weeklong phone free skills gathering and it was pretty life changing.
Ah you're naming something so critical here...the voice-heart connection, that soul-to-soul piece of the exchange I mention...Glad you got off grid a bit. I spend most of June on retreat with no cell/internet (except limited internet in a common area) and it was also life changing. I could feel threads and patterns breaking away from me. I was so much happier. It's a challenge to maintain in daily life though.
Grateful for the heads up. I have my head in the sand a little around this topic. I am now paying attention more to what I read and how it is written. Coming from an academic background, sometime the stoic voice doesn't even trigger my radar. But I should in a non-academic space. Great insights here. And now I understand what you write so well! English background.... duh!
Yes, definitely something to keep on your radar...though I will say that sometimes I might see AI where it's not actually there, too! Like a hammer looking for a nail...But I think that people are reading so much AI-generated content they are starting to sound more AI themselves!
this so beautifully puts words to some of the thoughts that have been on my mind lately. You make such an important rationale for being boundaried with AI, without suggesting we need to discard of it in our writing entirely. I want to keep, and actually strengthen, my own voice.
I also keep hearing/seeing references to Mary Magdalene lately - perhaps a sign I should learn more about her!
I'm so glad this resonated - may we all continue to discover a healthy way of being in relationship with AI...not putting heads in the sand and not surrendering our agency and creativity either. And yes to MM -- there have been periods of my life where she's appeared so strongly with soul-level messages and lessons for me :)

Same! I've stopped using it for editing for this reason. You can have my errors along with my voice ;)

Beautifully said. You came at the right time with this message & MM energy has been intense lately.
Yes! There's something in her presence and love we need right now :)

Wise words, wonderfully authentic!
Might be another way to avoid sovereignty?
